Cleanroom Fogger, CRF4 supports ISO14644-3, USP797 and Federal Standards 209E airflow guidelines.
Cleanroom Fogger, CRF4
Watch CRF4 Video. The CRF4 is a portable cleanroom fogger that can use deionized (DI) water or water for injection (WFI water) to generate 1.25 cubic meters of pure fog per minute at 170 ml fog density per minute to provide from 10 to 15 feet visible fog distance. If you are comparing another fogger to the CRF4, how much fog volume and fog density does the other fog generator produce? What distance of visible fog does it offer? The CRF4 is designed to visualize airflow turbulence from 10 to 15 feet, depending on clean room airflow velocity and humidity. The CRF4 would be used in smoke studies of semiconductor clean rooms, ISO suites, sterile rooms, bio-safety cabinets, RABs and medical rooms. Airflow guidelines ISO 14644-3, USP 797, Federal Standards 209E are supported. USP 800 Hazardous Drug Compounding and Airflow Recovery Tests under ISO 14644-3 Annex B12 are also supported.

Applied Physics provides clean room foggers to visualize airflow turbulence, patterns, velocity, and dead zones during smoke studies. The CRF4 produces almost as much pure fog as ultrapure foggers, which use LN2 and DI water. It includes adjustable airflow, adjustable fog volume and wireless remote control, which is not found on other ultrasonic foggers.
The advantage of the CRF4 is the fog density generated at 170 ml per minute, which is higher than any other ultrasonic fogger in the world. When you look at the different foggers available, it is important to determine how much fog volume the fogger produces? How much fog density is generates? And the typical visual distance of the fog in typical clean room operation. All foggers provided some form of direct control of the fogger, but does the fogger offer wireless remote control of the fogger operation, so that it can be used inside a closed area.

Watch CRF4 Video. The CRF4 Cleanroom Fogger is the fogger to select when you want higher volumes of fog, but do not want to use liquid nitrogen. The CRF4 produces 1.25 cubic meters of pure fog per minute with 170 ml of fog density per minute providing 10 to 15 feet of visible fog. It is the fog density and fog volume that generates visual fog distance. Most foggers are described without referring to fog volume, fog density and visual airflow distances, showing nice pictures of the fogger without describing fog performance. If the fogger you are considering does not describe its actual fog performance, how do you, as a buyer or user, know if the fog generator can meet your objectives? The CRF4 describes the fog volume, fog density and visible airflow
distances, because customers buy smoke machines to achieve a desired level of
air flow visualization in their smoke studies. There are a variety of accessories that can be plugged directly to the CRF4 output or attached to the 5 meter fog hose. The performance of fog volume, fog density and visual fog distance are the primary reasons a customer needs a fogger.

Watch CRF4 Video. Some ultrasonic foggers are provided with a stainless steel enclosure, and look beautiful, but generate very little fog. Many foggers do not describe how much fog volume or fog density provided. Few foggers describe the visual airflow distance provided. The CRF4 is specifically designed to provide 1.5 cubic meters of fog per minute, as compared to similar priced foggers with only 20% of the fog volume. The CRF4 airflow can be adjusted. The fog volume can be increased and decreased as needed for small volume clean areas, or larger volume clean areas. It can be operated directly by using touch pad controls on the CRF4, or it can be operated remotely for use inside a closed room, RAB, bio safety cabinet, etc.
The Technology of Generating a Pure Fog for Aiflow Visualization
CRF4 uses 35 ultrasonic piezo devices to generate a pure fog of 1.25 cubic meters / minute with 170 ml of fog density for 10-15 feet of visible fog.
There are a variety of methods to generate a fog used to visualize airflow and turbulence in clean rooms. LN2 can be combined with DI water to produce a very dense ultrapure fog. CO2 Ice can be used to produce a CO2 based fog as well; but the generated fog is lower volume and the volume of CO2 fog output will decrease as the CO2 ice evaporates. Glycol is often used to produce fog, but glycol foggers would not normally be used in a clean room, sterile room or ISO suite. Ultrasonic fog is the more consistent method with lower cost to produce higher volumes of fog. The CRF4 ultrasonic fog generator is less expensive, lighter weight than LN2 foggers and provides control of fog volume, control of fog density and wireless remote control.
CRF4 Cleanroom Fogger
The CRF4 can be turned on or off at will, refilled with DI Water or WFI Water as needed. The fog volume can be adjusted higher to 1.25 cubic meters fog / minute or lowered to 0.5 cubic meters fog per minutes to fit your applications. Adjust the airflow from 20% to 100% velocity.
In order to create larger volumes of fog, 35 ultrasonic devices are used, which vibrate at high frequencies, generating high volumes of vapor droplets at a diameter of 5 to 8 microns. The fog vapor is suspended just above the water line, and then captured by the internal airflow and directed outside the fogger into the clean room or clean area. Attach a Y Adaptor to direct two fof flows upwards into the clean room. Or attach a 5 meter fog hose to direct fog as needed. The Y Adaptor can also be plugged into the tip of the 5 meter fog hose.
If the airflow needs to be adjusted, simply touch the up arrow for increased airflow to match your clean room airflow. Or touch the down arrow to decrease the airflow.
